Have you spices in your home? definitely, you have ......so......
Let's have some fun.
To make colors let’s collect some spices and powders to make the relevant colors.
Red color: can be made from red spice “ the red chili powder”.
Yellow color: can be extracted from yellow spice “ the turmeric powder”.
Green color: can be taken out from "green tea powder" or green tea bags. You can crush the green tea leaves to make the fine powder.
Material:
- Hot boiling water
- Red chili powder
- Turmeric powder
- Green tea powder
- Strainer and a clean fine textured fabric
How to make colors from powders:
Step 1: To extract color from the powder you have to boil one cup of water.
Step 2: Pour spice powder(of color you want to make) into this hot water.
Step 3: let it boil for a good 10 minutes. After boiling, you have to use the double strainer method by using a strainer and clean stockings, As shown below. This method is used to finely strain all the impurities or the particles from the liquid. you have to use a fine fabric over the strainer. if there are still some particles of chili powder or turmeric, stain it for the second time and you will get the fine color.
The more the powder, the darker the color, keeping the water constant. The consistency or thickness can be made by adding white flour to it. For more professional strokes you can add liquid glue to this DIY paint. It will give you a thicker color. you can make a different color by adding equal quantities of two or more colors like red and yellow color can be used to make orange color. The remaining DIY paints will be discussed in the next post.
These are the final colors.
